COMCAST’S XFINITY BEGINS THE SUMMER OF SOCCER
2016 ON THE X1 PLATFORM
Comcast X1 has made its way into many homes and in particular Latino homes. Comcast did not hold out on any detail and perk when it customized X1 bicultural experience for its Spanish-speaking customers. This summer sports fans are going to be able to take their sports viewing to a new level not only when it comes to seasonal sports, but for Copa America and the Summer Olympics in Rio as well. We had the chance to meet with Javier Garcia, who is the VP and general manager of Multicultural Services at Comcast Corporation and he gave us the complete inside to all the exciting features that the X1 bicultural experience has to offer its customers.
Not only has the X1 bicultural experience one catered to sports fans, it also includes some family time as well. Kids Zone is now offered in Spanish and it includes all the content that a family would want for their children in Spanish, from shows to Disney movies. Parents take complete control of the Kid Zone from locking in parental controls, to setting the amount of time the children will watch their desired program in Spanish. That’s not the only exclusivity that Comcast has come up with to cater to its Latino customers. They have also put together a channel dedicated to its Latino customers, Xfinity Latino entertainment channel. The channel gives customers a list of the latest novelas being shown to the latest sports games being shown.
For every sports fan, Comcast X1 bicultural experience has customized everything a fan could ever think of when it comes to catching on their sports. With Copa America currently being played around the nation right now, Comcast customers will not miss any stat or replay all thanks to the new X1 features. Copa America fans can actually speak into their customized remote and say a country that they wish to know the stats for. On their television, fans will be able to see details on all the team members and everything about that particular country that is playing in Copa America. Fans have all that they have ever imagined when it comes to following their favorite team and sports. Fans will never have to worry about missing a game or stat, games can be recorded and all team schedules can be found all within the X1 bicultural experience. The same experience can be customized while catching up with the Summer Olympics in Rio as well.
Getting to know Javier after he shared with us all the amazing features that the X1 bicultural experience has to offer, I asked how he felt about being a part of this creative team he said, “I’m living my dream.” He calls himself a geek because he enjoys reading anything that is technology based. His passion has always been music and throughout his career he has been able to transform his “geek” side and passion into his strong career. We asked him what’s the one piece of technology that he couldn’t live with out and of course its X1. He enjoys the experience that X1 gives him and his family. It has changed the way his family has watch cable television and he stands by it. The piece of advice that Javier gives everyone who is striving to be strong in their career choice “You need to know where you are going, if not you are going to end up going exactly where you didn’t want to go.” This summer for X1 customers is going to be one they never imagined.
